A Brief History of Work & Projects
Over a span of 16+ years, I’ve had the privilege of engaging in diverse creative roles across the NFL, NBA, higher education, and nonprofit sectors. This journey has been a canvas for rich creativity and collaboration, allowing me to craft and produce work that I take immense pride in sharing.
Origin
My love for art, design, and all things creative began as a child in Jacksonville, Florida. I was that kid always drawing, sketching, and doodling at every opportunity. Dating back to elementary school, I have vivid memories of my friends and I competing to drawing our favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Street Fighter characters.
Little did I know, I was nurturing a seed that would blossom into a world of exploration and opportunity. Art and design became my gateway to transforming my innate passion into a career.
Career
Over the years, I take pride in having sat in nearly every seat possible within a creative team. From starting as a Graphic Design intern with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2010 to becoming a Web & Graphic Designer with Hillsborough Community College. Beginning my sports career with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a Graphic Designer, I eventually rose to the position of Lead Designer. Serving as Senior Graphic Designer with the Charlotte Hornets, and holding roles as Art Director for Beasley Media Group and Creative Director for Threespot Agency. My journey also extended into excelling in commercial photography for these brands as I have led the planning, directing, shooting, and editing of many high-profile photo and video shoots. I’m proud of the insights gained over the years and the ability to infuse these experiences into the DNA of my creative agency, Brown Innovative, driving our mission to create purpose-driven work that makes a difference
Through the Years
Community
I find serving my community to be an honor. Recognizing the sacrifices made by those before me, I consider it my responsibility to give back, inspire and ignite change. I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors and inspirational figures, motivating me along the way. Inspiring the next generation, particularly African American males, holds a special place in my heart. Throughout my professional ascension, when I discovered creatives who looked like me and excelled in their craft, they became my beacons of inspiration. Understanding the impact this had on my journey, I consider it mandatory to inspire the next creative director or agency owner and empower them to do the same.
Family
I am a man of faith, family, a proud husband, and father to two beautiful girls. Growing up in a two-parent household was a blessing, allowing me to witness firsthand, through my dad and other role models, the true essence of being a man and the profound significance and responsibility that comes with manhood.
Every day, I take pride in embodying love, leadership, compassion, and various other virtues for my daughters and wife. My commitment extends to providing a better life and more opportunities for them to excel, grow, and become impactful citizens in society.
