Greenlight Fund – Organizational Values Icon Design

In the spring of 2024, I collaborated with Greenlight Fund to bring their newly defined six organizational values to life through icons, emojis and additional supporting assets. These values reflect Greenlight’s dedication to community & partnership, and needed to align seamlessly with their existing visual brand, voice, and tone. This multi-tiered project encompassed not only the design of icons and emojis but also their application across various digital platforms, including Zoom, desktop backgrounds, and email signatures. The icons have since been featured on various merchandise items, allowing employees to proudly display and represent their core values both in the workplace and in their communities.

Brief and Concepting & Design Phase

The first phase of this project involved the brief, concepting and design stages. During this phase, I fielded their thoughts and asked clarifying questions, ensuring that the direction and vision was clear. I was provided a document outlining their newly defined values, complete with detailed descriptors that explained the context, ideas, and themes behind each value. Using this information, I began sketching the icons. We finalized the icons over the course of three design rounds. Once the icons were completed, we then translated them into functional emojis. These emojis were then integrated into the organization’s Zoom platform, allowing users to comment and interact in meetings with this personalized icon set.

Digital Integration - Zoom Filters

The finalized emojis were integrated into the organization’s digital spaces. We created a set of Zoom filters, backgrounds, and desktop graphics for employees to install as their computer desktop backgrounds.
